PhD. Marko Strbad graduated in 2004 in microbiology at the Department of Microbiology, at the Biotechnical faculty of University of Ljubljana. Laboratory work (Isolation and characterization of stem cells from the bone marrow) was carried out at the Institute of Transfusion Medicine under the supervision of Prof. PhD. Alojz Ihan, MD. and mentorship PhD. Primož Rožman, MD. Between 2005 and 2009 he worked in Educell, Ltd. as a young researcher, performing his research and laboratory work at the Institute of Transfusion Medicine. From February 2007 to May 2008 he was a visiting researcher at the University of Newcastle, Institute of Human Genetics, Royal Victoria Infirmary and Hematology Department, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, where he was trained under the supervision of Prof. PhD. Colin McGuckin to work with stem cells from umbilical cord blood (collection, isolation, processing and differentiation in vitro) in which he also earned his PhD. In 2008, he became the technical director at the company Biobanka popkovnične krvi. In September 2013 he took over the management of the company.
In january 2014 he rejoined Educell Ltd as the Deputy Director.
After graduating from secondary school in Ljubljana, Anja Planina started her career in a family business where she was introduced with small business operating techniques. She got familiar with shareholding companies formation procedures when she worked for financial institution as an executive secretary.Afterwards she spend four years working in engineering consulting company as executive secretary. During her work she finished the university study of adult education at Faculty of arts University of Ljubljana. Anja has been emplyed at Educell Ltd. From 2001, currently she is a Head of General Service.
After graduation in microbiology at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana she continued to work in the laboratory of the Chair of Molecular Genetics and Biology of Microorganisms at the same faculty. At The Department of Sanitary Microbiology, Institute of Public Health of RS, she completed her traineeship with the state qualifying examination for health care workers.
In August 2011 she joined Educell Ltd. as a cell laboratory technologist for the preparation of the cell products ChondroArtTM and UroArtTM. In 2013 she took charge of the production of the cell products.
Barbara Dovgan studied Biochemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana. She has completed research for bachelor degree under the supervision of Dr. Lenart Girandon in Educell Laboratories Ltd in February 2012. After graduation, she enrolled in PhD study in Biosciences at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. During study she gained experience in cell cultures and cell-based assays for drug (biologics) testing. She is currently a Researcher and Key Account Manager.
