Potential of regenerative medicine for treatment and rehabilitation of patients

Co-financed from the Ministry of Defence (code: TP MIR 07/RR/18)

The main goal of this project is to create a comprehensive tissue engineering practice for treating acute injuries, based on research on the potential use of stem cells present in the tissues of adult humans. From an investigation of stem cells from different tissues we should be able to make a protocol of which injuries could be treated and to what extent. The findings of this project will be used for military needs but they will also have wider applications to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Studies of stem cell potential are also important for developing biobanks for autologous tissues that will be part of the future technology in regenerative medicine.
