The tissue establishment Educell can also organize import/export of human tissue and cells intended for treatment. To ensure the availability of allografts to Slovenian orthopaedic and traumatology surgeons, frequently the best alternative for ligament reconstruction and bone defect reconstruction, we are collaborating with the largest USA organization, the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation (MTF, USA), which supplies us with allograft tendons and bones. We also are in contact with the French company, TBF Génie Tissulaire (France), which supplies us with allogeneic freeze dried bone.
Import and export of tissue allografts are organised according to Directive 2004/23/EC on setting standards of quality and safety for the donation, procurement, testing, processing, preservation, storage and distribution of human tissues and cells. This is also in accordance with Slovenian law,in which EU Directive 2004/23/EC has been adopted.
