Lenart Girandon graduated from microbiology at the Department of Microbiology, at the Biotechnical faculty of University of Ljubljana. He completed the research part of his bachelor degree in Sweden, at University of Lund in 2006/07 and successfully defended it with the highest grade in 2007. After graduation he became a PhD student at the Medical faculty, University of Ljubljana. He has been employed as a young researcher at Educell Ltd. from the beginning of 2008, financed by the Ministry of the economy. Lenart Girandon does the research work in the field of adult stem cells under the supervision of dr. Nevenka Kregar Velikonja and under study mentorship of dr. Irma Virant Klun. He is focused on different types of stem cells derived from adult tissues and their potential use in clinical practise.
