After getting bachelor degree at the Department of Biology, Biotechnical faculty of the University of Ljubljana in 1998, she entered graduate study of Biochemistry and molecular biology at the Medical faculty of the University of Ljubljana. The same year she got “Young researcher” grant and afterwards got employed at the National institute of biology in the Department of Plant physiology and biotechnology. In her research work she used high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC), cDNA microarray technology, RT real-time PCR, PCR and other techniques of molecular biology and biochemistry.
Under mentorship of prof. dr. Maje Kovač she defended her master thesis in 2001 and doctoral thesis in 2006. In the same year she got employed in Educell d.o.o. as a researcher and project manager. Currently, she is developing bone tissue engineering products using mesenchymal stem cells for treating long bone defects.
Since March 2010 she is the responsible person of tissue establishment and also the deputy director of Educell.
